And currently for mods 16x16km is a huge map, 4x4km is the second most common size, especially for US maps.
This is by far the top reason why I will switch to PC when my finances allow for a good gaming rig. I.d love to play a 16x map. The second reason would be the enhanced graphics to that nearly photorealistic look and the third is name brand equipment, particularly semi trucks. I'm a truck driver IRL, so no suprises there.
A 16x16km map is a 64x map, VERY few out there and I would imagine takes a hefty rig to run it. A 16x is 8x8kmBryan83 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 3:13 amThis is by far the top reason why I will switch to PC when my finances allow for a good gaming rig. I.d love to play a 16x map. Most half-decent gaming PCs could handle the updating across all players, as could the routers and internet connections that PC gamers use.Earnest Pea wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 7:19 pmI normally try to avoid these discussions, but this one keeps coming up. I suspect that we are unlikely to see dynamic terrain now or in the near future (if ever). I say this for one very good reason: multiplayer. It was mentioned back when 19 was coming out. The problem with dynamic terrain and multiplayer is that all ground changes have be updated in real time across all players in the session. That's a lot of extra data being thrown around the along with everything else passing between clients. The only way to do it would be to have dynamic terrain for single player games only. I feel that they want to keep the experience consistent between single player and multiplayer, so that is unlikely to happen.Eonellivlem wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 6:58 pm They can improve the field textures all day long, i knew it wasn't coming in 22, but i really would like dynamic terrain.
Feel free to disregard this... I have zero interest in starting a fight.
So, a bit like the potato greenhouse that has been in the modhub for 2 years already?cwattyeso wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 10:19 pmThey spoke about Green Houses during the Production Chains demo and again in yesterdays Q&A portion of the stream. In FS22 your Greenhouses no longer just give you money for having them placed on the map, but instead actually give you products. These products you can sell like any crop, or you can combine them with other crops in Production Chains to produce other items to sell. So for example one of the things we saw was Strawberries, which can be delivered to a Bakery along with other products like Flour, Milk, Butter, Sugar etc and the bakery will then produce cakes which you can sell for even more money.
Exactly. The same greenhouse that needs an additional script mod to work and is therefore not working on consoles right now.TheGazbeard wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:24 pm

Called politics.MrSquealypig wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 11:57 am I remember in previous editions of FS the forums were full of posts complaining that modders had to make things that should be in the base game.
Now they added a bunch of that stuff those same people are complaining that they stole ideas from modders.
