Setting up a farming community

Hello,
My brother and I are looking to start a multi player server map that has multiple farms on it. We would like to run it so that we both have separate farms. With separate incomes and equipment. Then we help each other when needed.
We have a couple ideas but was wondering who else does it and how they manage it.
For equipment we can use the vehicle grouping mod. And the only other thing we can think of for separating money and grain is to run a spread sheet.
