Sorry for being off-topic here for a moment:

Hey RODHA, yeah I haven't been on much since I have been recording my favorite (I'm obsessed) show Star vs the Forces of Evil (and have been reading a lot on the fan-made Amino website) and been watching a lot of that lately and I have been helping my grandpa out in the field lately as we have started picking beans a few days ago. So yeah, that's why I have been off for a while.

So you are on top of the real thing *thumbsup*
May it be easy (if that is the correct saying of it) :biggrin2:

Yeper! Usually work until 7 or 8pm each night (unless on weekends as the grain elevators close at around 5pm) or when the beans get too tough to feed through the head. The beans will collect moisture and makes it harder to harvest. Rained today, so we didn't work as long, probably not tomorrow, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. :( R.A.I.N.

Corn?!?! LUCKY! Beans are so boring... :zunge: Good thing it's corn year for us (more fields of corn than beans).

Well, it gets planted first, so it's ready first. All of our stuff was kinda late this year

Seriously? We plant corn first too, and it's never ready before beans. :confusednew:

It's either ready before, or my grandpa is picking while my dad is catching beans

Here in louisiana we plant corn in early march, harvest it in early august. Most the soybeans get planted late April and early May and get harvested from mid September to early october.

There are only about 10,000 varieties of corn... Variety can play a lot into when it is ready to harvest.

Like I said in another thread, I work at a Co-op. We do a lot of agronomy work there, so here's some pics from a guy's field. *thumbsup*
