I take that once the first stage of harvest reached (lightest orange-yellow), waiting, or harvesting at the 2nd or 3rd stage won't give you anymore crop yield?

That's correct, there's no difference in the yield, the darker it gets the closer it is to withering.

Except grass.

Yes, only harvest grass when it hits light orange. Yellow is a poor yield and it never progresses to dark orange.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Grass, I have (4) fields of it to keep an eye on.

^^because if you miss one fert stage you can only have 2, the good part is you get one for free

So since sugar cane has the same functions as grass,, does it count for sugar cane aswel?

Apparently not, harvesting removes all fertilisation state (from what I read, my field wasn't plowed so I can't tell for sure). And apparently the weeder doesn't work for fertilising sugar cane.

Another Grass question, and I could be wrong about my previous harvest, but after I harvest my grass fields they are shown as purple. But as soon as I fertilize twice, they are show as ready for Harvest, and I'm being cheating out of my 3rd fertilization, I used to be able to get all (3) fertilization done. Grass seem to be ready for harvest so quick, if you blink your too late, it definitely take lot less time for the grass that regular Fruits.

Yeah grass does grow quicker than other crops. After harvest (purple) the grass has stage 1 and you can add the second at that point. It then goes straight to ready for harvest (yellow) but you can add stage 3 fert at this point as the grass isn't fully grown until it gets to orange.

Oranges might be a fs19 next for me .
