Did seasons get rid of the straw trick and do we now have to keep pens clean?

As for cleanliness, you.use a bucket on a loader of some sort.

I play using seasons and still use the straw trick. Just spread it in front of the feeding trough. Its still there after a full season 100% cleanliness all year

Doesn't straw rot if left in the open? You might have better chances using wood chips that what I do

Im playing on woodshire using that maps cow pen. The trough is inside a building. Im pretty sure thats why it hasnt rotted. Woodchips do work better for outside troughs.

If you use a modded animal pasture that isn't seasons ready the straw would rot even if it had a roof over so I always use wood chips personally just in case.

I tried this on lone Oak before seasons was out and the straw trick did not work.

You can still use the woodchips, which could be also considered realistic.
