Im having the hardest time ever making hay.
It seems it always rains and the Seasons forecast is always wrong.
Does the tedder serve a purpose now?
Seems like im having to get my grass when its wet, make silage and buy hay.

Yes. When the grass is dark green when cut use a tedder and it will turn into the lighter shade, like vanilla hay, and then it will air dry into hay.

If you're having trouble with the weather try longer seasons. Not sure what you're playing on now but I've experienced 3 day seasons the weather doesn't show very accurate.

As mentioned above.. If you wait until the grass is dry enough before mowing it, you don't need a tedder, but you may not have weather with drying conditions long enough to both dry the grass before mowing and make hay after mowing.

There seems to be an issue with drying grass and seasons, in that season length matters. It shouldn't. Weather should change 3 times as often and hay should dry 3x as fast in 3 day season compared to 9 day season. I moved from 3 to 9 day seasons just to be able to make hay.

I think in 3 day seasons too many things are being condensed into too smaller time frame. I watched Mr Sealyp using 3 day seasons and he had similar problems with hay and some other issues. I always use 6 day seasons and I've never had the issues he had.

Old thread I know.
But I think it might speed up hay making even in the dry grass stage, just can’t figure out as I always seem to do silage.

Incorrect. Tedding grass that is drying will reset the timer on it turning to hay.

The more one knows... ...the less excuses to burn diesel.

Realistically though running the Tedder is always a good idea unless you have a true 3 days of summer to dry it down.

Tedders now have a purpose again for me as I'm only playing maps that support the latest work from the farming agency, in those then you have to ted multiple times to get hay and once to get silage if you don't use a mower with a built in conditioner.
