[PS5] Multiplayer session disconnects

Performance of the game on PS5 is overall very good, haven't run into any noticeable problems except this:
Whenever I am hosting a multiplayer session, if I activate the PS5 popup menu (PS button) and change my "Online Status", the multiplayer session says it lost connection to the server and closes. At least it offers to Save, so there's that.
I've replicated this across International, Germany, and Continental Europe server choices (I'm in eastern USA with gigabit fiber internet), and doesn't seem to matter if I'm going from "appearing offline" to "online" or vice versa, to/from "busy", whatever, any change in status seems to kill the MP session.
I never experienced this problem on my PS4 or PS4Pro.
