Controller does not work after I tabbed out of the game

Hello,
I have since the two days where I have the game always the problem that when I tab out, ie alt and tab presses, my controller is no longer recognized by the game and I can only play with keyboard and mouse. I use a Ps4 controller have tried wireless and with wire, came both times the same result. Don't have another controller either, so I don't know if it's just this controller. I've been sitting on this problem for several hours trying my own stuff and been on hundreds of forums, but no one has had this problem I'm having. I hope you guys can help me out.
