Game Save

I loaded up a new map, saved a few backups everything ok, so I decided to put some trees in no problem, put some bigger ones in they ended up floating in the sky, so I thought just delete the last saved game in the backup its on a 15 minute timer, I thought it would take me back to the first trees I put in no joy trees are still floating what's going on here?
