40 and below fps on chellington valley

Post by HoridMatec »

Hey,

Why do I get 40 fps and lower in chellington valley?

My pc specs are:

Nvdia rtx 3070

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

16 gb ddr 4

msi gaming motherboard.

I should get 60 fps with no problems?

Thx.
Don’t see anything obvious (lots of errors, lua call stacks, etc) to cause low FPS on there, so definitely strange

It is strange there are only few errors in log, and most can be ignored. Your system should easily reach 60 fps.
My suggestions is to turn off Vsync as that would only be needed if you have screen tearing if FPS is to high and this is not the case. That will give a little performance boost
I would also recommend putting all of the mods on seperate drive from operating system. Preferably a SSD drive. You can change what directory the game uses for the mods in the settings.xml
If this does not help then possibly mod conflicts. Remove the heavy script mods and then test. Vehicle mods and building mods that have high poly counts can also tank FPS.

Edit: The high poly mods will only affect FPS when you use them, mainly when your close by

Also only enable mods that are being used or you really plan on using, having every mod you have downloaded enabled may hurt performance.

Just an addition to the v-sync part, as you're running a nvidia card, you can use the "fast" setting for the v-sync in the nVidia Control Panel, advanced 3D programs tab

also try looking into your shader cache floder, and delete all inside, there should only be 1 shader inside the folder, but some maps create additional and additional so it can get stuck up there, so every now and then delete whats in that folder, after you do so the 1st youl go in a map it will lag a bit before it creates a new shader , but this also helps sometimes
