- Vehicle/Tool/Model/Object: Landscaping / Sculpting
- Issue:
Using flatten in landscaping mode costs constantly money, even no terrain modification is done.
Assumption: This can lead to ground that does look flat, but is not, which may cause the infamous "The deformation of the terrain failed!" message when placing buildings.
- Single- or Multiplayer: Singleplayer, Multiplayer not tested
- Steps to reproduce:
- Start a new Farm-Manager game at Ravenport
- buy field #19
- start landscaping mode (mode Sculpting)
- brush shape circle
- brush size 20, brush strength 0.1
- move the cursor to 0,0°,1660,1620 (actually not relevant, happens on every not even surface)
- go to the developers and demand, that the position information in the minimap must be readable independent of the stuff displayed under the position information
- start flatten and don't let loose the R1 button
- money (top right) runs down constantly
- continue to flatten (continue the action started in step 8.) the whole field #19. It will still cost money, if you stop moving the cursor at any position
- change to building mode and select "Easy Shed 1"
- Change direction to 0.0° and move the building around. You should find a couple of position, were for no obvious reason you get the error message "The deformation of the terrain failed!". Do not place the building.
- Go back to landscaping mode and use the square brush to flatten the field. You should see the money drain effect, even thought, the land is supposed to be already flat.
- Does it happen on a standard map without mods yes/no: Yes, happens on Ravenport with no mods active.
- Which vehicles & machines are involved: none
I don't expect that this will be fixed in FS19 (it was not in last couple of years). But please make sure, that this is fixed in FS22!
