Last time I played this map I started at the area above field 6.
It is quite flat, but you will be limited for expansion, depending on your plans.
I was focussing on cotton, so my needed yard size was quite small. If you go for animals, there might not be enough room.

I agree- 6 or 12. Big enough to start earning, but affordable with an equipment budget in Farm Manager.

I saw a comment somewhere that biogas plant is a nice starting point.

I like to do forestry so I start at Field #1
I plant the left half in tree saplings and the other half in poplar. Then since it takes around 11 days for the trees to reach full maturity I have 11 days to do contract work and make money. I do buy the small Fendt with the 150hp motor, the Kuhn 4100 sprayer (awesome for fert and herbicide contracts) MAN TGX Forestry wheeler truck (this allows me to do the transport contract work while waiting). Field #1 is also close to the sawmill so the short haul is nice.

I built mine just NW of field 13. There is a radio tower (or whatever it is) there and I incorporated that into my yard site. I built my house on the lower section and built the actual yard a little into field 13. It was a bit of a headache cause the it's wasn't exactly level. But I got it worked out pretty well.
This was my setup in it's infancy. But its the best pic to show exactly where I built it.
It then ended up like the following pics
I like this one cause it looks so good coming up to a farmyard from a distance

I'm on Griffin but that looks really sweet how you did that n how the trees grew over time!!!! Nice work
