Dear all,

I like to listen to Amazon Prime films/ programs when farming. I noticed that as soon as a video is started, all sound in FS22 is muted. I cant see any reason why this happens (it never happened with previous versions of FS).

Does anyone know a way of over-riding this and force enabling the sound on FS?

I've been experiencing this as well.
It only happens with Amazon Prime Video, both using the desktop app or the website.

It is not taking exclusive control of the playback device, so I am really puzzled :\

have the same problem with Audible.

Does this have something to do with Digital Right Management (DRM)? Maybe those services want an exclusive right to the audio device for copy protection? Can you check older versions of the game now are having this behavour too?

I not only have the same problem with Prime video, but also with Netflix.

Someone already mentioned setting the audio device to "Don't allow application to take exclusive control of this device".

What is the volume level for individual applications in the windows volume mixer?

If it isn't obvious from either of those, I'd try using something like Voicemeeter to get more control over audio input and outputs.

Did you try the solution mentioned by Loki?

For me it worked, also a tip is to set your headphones to.: sonic headphones.

Select Start > Settings > System > Sound > Related settings > Sound Control Panel, select a playback device, then select Properties.
In the new window that opens, select Spatial sound.
In Spatial sound format, select Windows Sonic for Headphones, then select Apply.

When you done that, do this and then it should work:

This is indeed very annoying. I've submitted bug reports and the first one they closed without fixing it. The second report is still open and unfixed to this day.

This is not a problem with the user's OS. This is a problem with the game itself. Unchecking "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" doesn't fix it either. Though we users should not have to change OS settings to make the game stop muting itself.
