Hi,

Is there a way to set som settings somewhere to hide all parts of the forum that are in wrong language? I really don't like to get search results or other information in forum parts that I can't understand without google translate.

I think I'm not the only one with this topic on the wishlist.

If you go to Advanced Search you can choose to search in certain forums.

Yes, but then you need to manually pick forums based on language...
But maby the cosest you can get on this forum.

A good thing would be if there was an option to select one or multiple languages on your profile
and everything on the forum was filtered based on that selection.

So choose the English forum to search in English? I'm confused unless I'm missing something from your question.

From when I login to the forum and till the end of the session, I don't want to see anything other than what is written in English. I don't like to be needed to scroll down to English forum. The forum should know based on my profile that only my languages specified there is legit to show to me. Am I more clear now?

Just use this link: viewforum.php?f=478

That was too easy, right?

Save it as favorite so you don't have to deal with wrong languages ever again :wink3:

I really hope you don't truly believe that is what I was asking about, do you?

I think I don't need to say more in that case, just waste of my time.

I would suggest that you remove your answer, just for your own good.

Yes, there are ways to do such things but it takes a lot of time and I'm not asking about how to manually select forums to search within. I wouldn't post the post here if it would be that I'm asking about, would I?

If a man ask you about develop an automatic light switch, the solution is not to lift your arm and press the switch, is it?

Or if I ask about a vehicle camera that automatically follows a point on a attached vehicle, I would not appreciate an answer like 'You can redirect the camera with the mouse'.

I hope this makes it more clear to you.

It actually makes it less clear to me. You asked if there is a way to search the forums for English language only and I told you how to. If doing the two steps that take 15 seconds is a lot of time to you I'm not sure what to tell you then.

Honestly you are the first person I have ever seen post anything even similar to this request on this forum in the 5 or so years I have been coming here.

Just because users don't post and ask about it, doesn't mean they don't want it.

Do you really think it's useful for people to get results in German if you can't read it?

Please prove to me that it only takes 15 seconds to select the English speaking part of the forum. I can't even read through the whole list of forum groups in 15 secs.

You don't have to select all forums. Just the top level "English Forum : Farming Simulator". If you do this couple times you should be able to select this in way less than 15secs.
Alternatively, you can just run a "regular" search and then change the following string at the end of the url:
&fid[]=478

E.g. instead of this:
https://forum.giants-software.com/search.php?keywords=test
It does look like:
https://forum.giants-software.com/search.php?keywords=test&fid[]=478

However, we will check if it is possible to improve this in the future.
