Chicken coop won’t accept feed from trailer.

Why won’t my chicken coop allow me to dump barley as feed for the chickens? I have 8 chicken coops- one has chickens and seven do not. I filled my trailer with barley, drove to the coop with chickens feeder trigger, and I do not receive the option to unload the barley. Oddly enough, when I drive the trailer to the 7 coops without chickens, I am given the option to unload the barley. I purchase a big bag of chicken feed and attempted to feed the one coop with chickens. The big bag was accepted; therefore, I can assume the trigger is not inhibited. I’m playing on the PS5, and I am not using mods for chickens or trailers.

If the terrain was unlevel when you placed it the trigger might be to high or low...the trailers won't detect the trigger if it's buried

Try unhooking the trailer then attach it again on pc we use the g key on the keyboard to tab through the implements attached to the tractor so make sure the trailer is highlighted.

Chicken food is wheat, so in order for the chickens to accept barley the chickens will need to eat all the wheat food first.

Don't chickens only eat wheat and sorghum in an unmodded game?


Edit : just checked the academy, and they should take barely too.

Are there room for more feed in the pen?

Check the animal tab and see if it's full or if there are room for more.
