hi i was just wondering what i need to make a map mod as want to bring a family farm to the game

Until someone more experienced replies, IMHO:
- the GE editor suite;
- an image editor like Photoshop (subscription $9.99 per month);
- Blender 3D, maybe;
- lots of time;
- lots of patience for the steep learning curve.

It's...a lot. Take your idea and multiply it by 10 fold. As soon as you start learning the process you start to get all sorts of ideas. It adds time. I built a map in FS17. It took so much time I never got it released before 19..then I had to convert it..that took forever.
If you have the drive, it's fun and rewarding. You just have to be patient and watch a lot of YouTube. I suggest watching shywizard, farmerbob, and Bauer brown. Click along and do simple things. Learn to load placeables etc.. One day you will realize you got the hang of it.
