Helper pressing H issue on multiplayer

Hey everyone,
This is a random error and I haven't seen anything in common when it happens. Randomy when we press H to hire a helper, instead of hiring the help and them going off with the job it will open the helper menu and we can't do anything else to hire one. Only way to fix it is to exit and restart the game. It's random and does not do it with any particular map, implement or tractor. Any ideas of what could cause this? We are running version 1.9.
