Does the weather station actually do anything?

The description is that it gives me weather reports.
If it does, how to I get weather reports out of it?
When I go up to it, there's no options to do anything with it.

The description actually says it "improves the weather forecast for your farm" and there is a weather tab in the menu which it is supposed to make more accurate.

It extends the hourly forecast from 12hr to 24hr.

And figure on weather changes starting 15 minutes early and at times lasting 15 minutes longer. In my experience anyway.

Doesn’t really matter. Disappointing the weather has zero effect on the game.
