I am on Calmsden and never had issues with the ai, they always worked fine.

It suddenly stopped functioning correctly; when I turn the helper on it will work one row of the field, then at the end it will stop, back up a bit and then hit an invisible wall and just spin the wheels.

Is there anyway to "reset" the ai?

Calmsden Farm is a very old map for FS22, been playing it since it came out (thanks Oxy). I would be surprised that something would just stop working properly with the map so I would hazard a guess and say it’s most likely a mod conflict.

I would start a fresh save game with zero mods and try the workers there, if they work ok then try working out which mod is giving you issues by process of elimination.
