Question/problem harvesting grass with a forage harvester.

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with using a forage harvester on grass to make chaff for silage.

I've tried using two different forage harvesters, both with a trailer attached.

Firstly, I tried using the Krone XDIsc 620 universal cutter header expecting to have grass chaff in the trailer but I had regular cut grass.

Then I tried mowing the grass and collecting the windrowed grass using the Krone EasyFlow 300 S pickup header with the same result.

Where am I going wrong?

Nothing, it'll become silage when fermented in a bunker, or other silo, or by being made into bales using the LT-Master or Vario from the Göweil pack.

If you dump grass in a bunker silo it will become chaff

Forage harvesters always chop the crop what are you on about?
