Next hurdle - assigning colormat0

I'm trying to assign colormat0 to my object in blender and I just cant make it work.
I have watched the Giants videos at least twenty times by now and they simply do not help.

I can assign a shader in the I3d plugin but it will not assign colormat0 to my object.
I just want the colormat, i dont want uv mapping (since it f--ks upp the textures)

Any advice?
