Freezing and not working

I reverently purchased the dlc for my ps4 to plant carrots,etc but I cannot purchase a seed machine in the carrots tab it freezes my game makes it completely unplayable and deletes my save file. It will not work. I think I should find a planter for these things so I can plant them. Do they make one for the ps4. I really want carrots. I had them before don't know why it won't work since the update. I had it when I had onions. Not sure what farm it was I took it off not enough space for machinery.
