PS5 version...
Likes:
Better visuals all round
Better sounds
Baby animals (finally)
Great weather effects
Dislikes:
No ability to change visual settings ie., performance etc
Unable to see lease amount when hiring equipment
Separate leased equipment menu has gone
*ANI pedestrians may as well be zombies
*ANI traffic doesn't stop at junctions and overtakes without regard
Steering setting at minimum of 50% still too sensitive
GPS - would be nice to set headlands to 0 so only rows are permitted - try following an *ANI harvester when they are committed to headlands with no storage
* artificial non intelligent

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
Put 48 hours in now and I feel I was wrong about the pallets, guess I was tired at the time and even though they're far from perfect at least I can load them now. I do find it hard in general because I have no sense of depth perception in the game. There is still a lot of jankiness such as getting my pallet fork embedded in the ground and flipping my tractor.
Depth of field issue I mentioned previously was because the default FOV setting for third person is set to 40 so everything in the distance gets magnified and goes super blurry. Once I set it to 60 it was fine, cab view is set to 75. TAA anti-aliasing creates even more blur but it does hide some of the worst foliage LOD pop in. My FPS started at 60 but dropped over time into the mid 40's but I found enabling Fluid Motion Frames 2 in AMD Adrenaline massively boosted fps to an average of 98 on ultra preset, which is great for a 2015 CPU and a 2021 GPU, but I also set SSAO to high and Anisotropic Filtering set to 16. In comparison on my PC FS22 runs at 125fps with everything maxed and all the LOD at 200%, both games set to 1080p. Don't see any reason consoles can't do 60fps at 1080p considering my CPU.
Once thing I noticed about FS25 like a lot of modern games is that performance is almost entirely based on the GPU (runs at 97-99%) but the CPU I've never seen higher than 28% usage.
I've used the workers more now and while there is some improvements especially their capablity to do curved fields there are also other issues. They still miss patches with some seeders, especially the Agro Masz direct drill. Either they're dropped the tool too early or late, or they're not turning it on in time. The way they do some corners is annoying to watch, its like you've hired a Sunday driver. Think of it like this, "0.4 degrees off target, must readjust, reverse 12 inches, adjust heading, move 2 inches forward, no not quite right, must adjust now by 0.2 degrees". It really is painful to see and such a timewaste and I really want to be able tell them to do just the rows or the headlands and select whether they work the field clockwise or anticlockwise.
The workers don't respect the crop and the rice harvesters consistently pipe out over the crops. They are awful with plows and I suspect they will be bad with articulated tractors too.

Bugs:
- Iseki Rice Planter sometimes won't fully refill from empty, just does 60-70%.
Mulching a field and then using a direct drill results in no crop being seeded.
Snow seems broken, appearing and disappearing not long after.
- On foot turning and movement speed needs increasing for both first and third person.
Traffic needs to give way for longer and while its great they finally overtake they shouldn't be doing it when there is incoming traffic. Frequently seeing multiple pileups.
Railroad crossing barriers need to come down earlier, had two many close calls with the barriers dropping.
Let us pick up knocked down road signs again so I can dump them in the river because there's this lunatic school bus that keeps knocking a stop sign into my field. Simple fix would be to remove collision from signs.

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
I generally agree with the positives and negatives mentioned above. I would still like to add another negative of the game is that the plant fences that were in farming simulator 22 are missing. It was a very good feature as it made our farm a little more realistic, but now in farming simulator 25 it is not there! what can we do as a game community so that they are added in the first update so that it is part of the game and not a mod so that we console players can also use it making the game fair for everyone
Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
Biggest own goals by Giants in FS25
1 - no precision farming. This was integral to FS22, and its lack will probably discourage map-makers from adding mods, since they will know that they will have to redo them again when (if) precision farming is added
2 - removal of the spawn option on factories - now store means leave it piled up outside
3 - shrunk range of vehicles. There is a lot of equipment that was in FS22 that is absent from FS25
4 - constructibles. This is a good way to waste your money from my so far limited experience (the shed in the farmyard on Riverbend Springs that does nothing
So afar, I give it 6/10 - some way to go Giants

Performance is 100% CPU bound. At 1080p there is a 50fps difference between a 5900X and a 9800X3D. It's just that the game uses only two threads, which is why all your other cores are twiddling their thumbs doing nothing.

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
I'm twenty hours in and my take is that Giants should be embarrassed by the state of this release. If it were possible I'd return it on Steam. This from a guy who owns hundreds of games and has never returned a game even once.
The texture pop-in on fields is intolerable. Having the game only render the textures properly in a roughly 20 meter circle centered on my tractor, only to have them pop in magically as I advance, has pretty much ruined the experience. Too late for a refund, obviously, but never too late to uninstall and leave a scathing review.

Exactly the same. I tried opening a case with Sony for PS5. But as soon as the game downloaded, the refund is NULL. First time ever actually going for a refund due to the game being unbearable. $90.jasonbarron wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:26 pm I'm twenty hours in and my take is that Giants should be embarrassed by the state of this release. Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
Just a few things that stand out to me (tried not to include bugs. we all know they are there so I want to focus on gameplay)
Likes
-Visually the game looks really good with the new fog and natural lighting and weather. Still waiting on a tornado.
-Really like the new swath textures for stuff like straw and grass. Seems so much more natural now.
-I am really enjoying the deformable terrain. While not perfect, it is a phenomenal first effort and will hopefully get better.
-I love the variety of contracts now. I can just mow a field. Or just wrap bales. Just whatever type of job I want to do.
-Loving the small productions. This is more on par with how I play and a very welcomed addition.
-I am in love with the starting barn on RBS. It is so spacious and rustic looking and the lighting at night is really really nice.
-The field workers. I just love the new system and have actually been using it. I have a "full time worker" who helps me a lot now. I can just set them to do the job I need doing and leave them to it while I fully focus on other things. It has worked flawlessly for me on every field with every job I have asked of it with the exception of the mcdon. I leased it and the header to do some canola so I could try it out and the worker wouldn't do it. Otherwise its done everything I have asked, even if it did it a bit weird at times.
Dislikes
-A lot of the new menu and UI. While I love some of it like the production menu and the map screen, other stuff like the pricing, vehicle screen(s) and stuff are just horrible or lacking all together. Honestly it might be my biggest gameplay grip. So many really bad changes here.
-The lack of equipment. The game has been gutted of so much good equipment once again but it seems worse this time. So many sections with only 1 item where that was variety even in fs22 base game.
-The traffic is still unmovable and can't be bothered with "pesky" things like stop signs and keep trying to pass into oncoming traffic. The effort in this area seems so minimal (they can overtake other traffic now) that maybe they just shouldn't have bothered. So halfassed.
-The driving AI.... what can one really say about this. It aaaaalllllllmost works.. but almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades'. Its so weird too because I can send it one way fine but it refuses to make the return trip no matter how many different ways I try to set it off. It just still needs so much work. Thankful the field workers aren't like this.
-Increased pallet handling. FS22 was already heavily focused on pallet handling which I can handle to a degree but it was already a bit much and has only gotten worse now. This area of the game needs help. Less palleted products. Not everything needs moved on a pallet or make it so the forklifts can autostack multiple pallets high to alleviate some of this time sink. Idk how other people are doing it but its already turning me away from certain high producing things like greenhouses. I know I could make it auto sell but what's the point then. If I just wanted to auto generate money I would use panels or download the RSM sign.

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
The lack of vehicles is alarming. I had hoped they'd been culled because of console slot restrictions and would be made available en masse immediately following release, but it doesn't appear to be happening.
Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
Playing it on PS5, had all the versions on console since 15 version. 15&17 on PS4, 19 on PS4 Pro 22 and now 25 on PS5. I have left playing 22 after 6 months or so since I did not want to do farming on concrete feeling fields and 25 ground deformation was a huge attractor for me to pre-order it again. Long in short regardless of below, would I buy it? Absolutely yes, however obviously I expected more for a 60 USD game from Giants folks to make this game greater despite the fact that I see the effort spent on, though should be better.
Likes
- Ground deformation, water, rain drops on vehicles, clogged tires etc
- Ray tracing
- Tractor & other equipment sounds (also was my favorite on 22)
- US map atmosphere, detailed work on it unlike the Polish map which was very dull!
- GPS for sure
Disappointments
- Pouring physics remaining same, you open the trailer's door and you see the grains / spinach are sitting like bricks while some is pouring with same old apperance. Combine unloading is not realistic, still same as 22, if Giants guys have watched a video on youtube how it actually happens, it should not be that difficult to write??
- Ground deformation does not occur at the same time/ lags when AI worker does the job, however it registers to system, when you come back later you see the tracks are there.
- Have not noticed any difference in terms of how tractor nor machinery are challenged on wet surface or fields, no spinning nor whatsoever.
- there are odd reflections like layer kind when you do the plowing and fov is looking towards the rear of tractor from the front side. Plow ground physics follows from distant behind, like it is processed sometime later, same happens on other occasions of lime, solid fertilizer applications but better.
- Mirrors can not be adjusted,
- Tractor & trailer/machinery with wheels move with very sharp strokes while following the surface, my guess is tires are too stiff same as 22, it should be like softer or more deforming which is compansating either the weight on them or the surface changes like it happens on real life. You can comfortably take a 90 degree sharp corner while doing 53 km/h with your tractor; it does not lean a bit for same reason, tires are rock solid and no mention of tip over at all. Faster you go on straight roads, they become smooth as an F1 track. Even saddle does not move a bit, you can not do that with a suspension free tractor at all! I believe Giants should follow Mud/Snow runner example here.
- Sugar cane harvester is better though due to partially rotating unloader but veggy harvesters are not useable for a single player at all, AI uses them in a way that you can not approach or leave their trail for unloading, it keeps hitting to you or jamming you or stopping while you struggle to approach in correct way over & over! I wont plant veggies no more for sure, I naively tried it once on a god damn big field, such a regret, had to try for 2 hours to preserve the hard earned & planted cash of my poor farmer character!
- Delivering goods to selling points and after dumping them on to solid ground, it is accepted by simply disappearing is not acceptable after all those years. Grills, conveyors or anything I can not think of should be a part of selling point goods acceptance animation! Maybe some simplified & animated AI dummies unloading them or forklifts must be thought of in first place, that would devastate people on such a great game perspective, even ETS2/ATS started to do that at least on some goods, it is amazing.
- Older tractors and machinery missing not saying necessarily vintage ones, is a big lacking of the default game.
- Once you approach to a attachment in general, appearing connect possible icon is not very visible with the current green tone. I am 45 and having glasses, it was better contrast on 22.
There were some other small bits about menu's but could be overcome by getting used to them. I believe that is for now.

Why can't you rotate the camera when placing/painting? All the trees make it hard to place some things accurately!

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
People really need to stop complaining about the lack of vehicles in the game .... We have 22 different front weights that should be enough for any one .............
Joking aside Front weights at 22 items is the largest category closely followed by maize headers at 21 items . then there is a really big drop off to the next one.
this really is a pretty poor show .

One thing I like about the game are the deer. Seen two or three when I first started playing the game. And for the longest time I had not seen any. Just had one run out of my corn field. That was really cool... Must of spooked it with my harvester?

Re: FS25 Likes and Dislikes
I dislike the fact that the bug preventing opening of the silage bunker has still not been fixed. Editing the xml file doesn't seem to work anymore either!

Yes. I've only seen one. It looked up and stared at me for a moment, then ran off. It felt quite special.farmboy002 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 3:47 am One thing I like about the game are the deer.
