SKY pack DLC
So I am all for machine packs like this but unless they take a page from SCS and go back and start bringing all their existing in-game machines up to scratch, we will have 12 machines that look and behave (if as promised) so much more realistic which sounds nice until you realize it will leave all the other machines looking and feeling like they belong in an older game. Even most mods will feel very subpar. But short a miracle of them bringing all the machines up to scratch, it seems like the minimum effort has been done changing only these 12 machines which it seems will only serve to make the rest of the game look bad/dated.
Anyone else having similar thoughts about the upcoming dlc?

Re: SKY pack DLC
yeah, they messed realy bad with this one, a feature that should be in the basegame, related to a paywall, even that it overwrite the original physics directory...
thats the kind of thing that I would expect from devs that are in the end of their projects, dont have anything to incorporate on their works, and wants to squeeze the last coin from their customers..

Re: SKY pack DLC
I think FS25 Season Pass 2 is worst they have ever released in FS history.
JCB WFT - completely useless tractor with bad physics and behavior
Vredo Pack - pack of equipment I will never use and need.
Sky Pack - some equipment is useful, but since they have different physics, I do not want to use them, to ruin the game!

Re: SKY pack DLC
Agree 100%. The stuff they claim to be adding with the new DLC is really cool, for sure, but why not make the information public (putting the new vehicles in the basegame or as GIANTS mods) so modders can copy it to improve the quality of the game overall? I know that for me, once I use a simple vehicle from the DLC with all these new realistic animations I'm going to regret using the more complex machines which are missing so much more.PrincessJessi84 wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2026 11:21 pm So I am all for machine packs like this but unless they take a page from SCS and go back and start bringing all their existing in-game machines up to scratch, we will have 12 machines that look and behave (if as promised) so much more realistic which sounds nice until you realize it will leave all the other machines looking and feeling like they belong in an older game. Re: SKY pack DLC
Yea IceUul, I really enjoyed most of the first round. Nexat is the most awkward machine to use to date but otherwise I have enjoyed the packs. Loving the old fords and Benz machines. The hit Kinlaig out of the park. Their nicest map to date and some pretty cool machines too. So far for year 2 I have bought the Vredo pack but the only thing I have used more than just messing about was the overseeders.
Jolly, I get them not releasing the machines like that. Lots of folks would go that direction and never buy the dlc... but what would be so hard or bad about releasing a free "sample machine" or 2 with all the new bells and whistles on it so modders could use that example to incorporate these things into their mods, taking the whole game up a level instead of just those 12 machines.
Either way I am glad its not just me. I have been feeling rather short changed with this game lately (in terms of expectations.. in all fairness the game itself has more than paid for itself) and I was really wondering if I was just becoming one of those unreasonable people whose views simply changed because my expectations were unrealistic. The harder things get on the people, the more I get frustrated with these kinds of decisions that are based purely on maximizing profits for minimal work involved. As I've essentially stated elsewhere on here, we are getting raked over the coals badly enough as is.. I'm not gonna have games I enjoy(ed) helping stoke the fire. I will walk away from a game first before I willingly let some asshole rip me off.

Re: SKY pack DLC
Well does anyone really need more seeders and cultivators right now... probably not! However I don't think a few particles of flaking mud dropping off implements means you'll stop using your other equipment. What is new fancy physics in this game, is it more low orbiting bales? In all seriousness the Horsch pack for FS22 had better sounds than other equipment and that never invalidated anything else I wanted to use. Technically if they introduce new effects for models you might expect them to update the existing ones, but come on now, that's ain't going to happen... this is Giants guys. It's like all the other DLC, buy it or don't buy it or just ignore it. I see no use for it at all but that's me.

Re: SKY pack DLC
The way I think of it it's more like this. Rather than adding the Sky DLC's new physics and particle effects to the game and improving the overall quality of this game, GIANTS opts to do a Paid DLC for something that should be an update to the overall physics of the game. I have absolutely no problem with the new vehicles (although I probably won't use them), but a vehicle DLC is very different from a "pay-to-improve-your-game-experience" approach like we see here. They did the same thing with the 3D tracks in the CLAAS DLC back in 19, those should have been integrated into all tracked vehicles but they were a DLC only thing. I suspect the reason is in order keep players buying the new versions of the game, like "hey, we like these new 3D tracks from the CLAAS DLC, and in the new game [FS22] ALL the vehicles have these new 3D tracks!"
Same thing will probably happen to FS28 or whatever, all the vehicles will have the improved physics and particle effects, tempting players to abandon the current game for the next one in order to enjoy what they currently have only a small taste of across all vehicles.
Let me know what y'all think!

Re: SKY pack DLC
No that's the nail dead on its head. 100% spot on at this point Jolly Farms. I'm not sure I can do it again at this point tho. Not so soon and not without some pretty awesome stuff. And not the way they did it for 25 with the ground physics. It worked fine for me and lots of other people and was one of those things we were really excited about... but they couldn't figure out how to make it work on console so it has been dumbed down several times in an attempt to stabilize gameplay on consoles to the point it might as well not really be a thing. I'm not saying exclude consoles. I'm saying.. just do it right the first time across the board or pick a project that you can.

Re: SKY pack DLC
you have an argueable pov here, then a new game is a new game, and we expect improvements here and there, also they need to sell their game, etcetera.Jolly Farms Modding wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 11:00 pm The way I think of it it's more like this. but the slowness giants brings improvements is a reflex from their dominance and safety of doesnt exist a rival to dispute with farm sim...
actualy, the strategy giants is getting now is kinda a pay to win, or pay to improve as you have mentioned, that is a bad sign, because it looks they have ran out of ideas to where expand their game, or direction to go... maybe they fear that a change in their scope could bring their project to thrash...
the current customer base from giants seems to be a faithful one (like EA's FIFA), but will it be enough to keep it running, and for howlong?

Re: SKY pack DLC
You see, as long as there are a bunch reliable modders that people really like moving to the new game, players with continue to buy the next game in order to get the modders' content, and GIANTS knows this so they don't feel bad re-creating the same game over and over again (and making a larger and larger profit each time). If they stop supporting the previous game's modHub, the modders will transfer over, and if the modders do, so will the players. It's a cycle that GIANTS is in complete control of. They just need to add one or two new things to the game (such as new physics or falling dirt particles) so that the modders will improve the quality of their mods, bringing in more players or at least getting all the old players to re-buy all over again. But it's not GIANTS improving the quality of the actual game, it's GIANTS making it possible for modders to improve their game, making them as rich as triple A studios and then giving us back hardly anything in return. (Literally I make less than one US dollar for over one thousand downloads on my mods. And some of my mods which took over a month to make have gotten around 15K downloads, or about $10-12 in rewards. NOT very rewarding LOL)
Sad that this is how it goes but what can you expect when there is no worthy competition? Lets face it, even if we aren't happy with GIANTS or Farming Simulator in general we all wouldn't be here talking about this if there was a better alternative and GIANTS of course knows this so they have little incentive to listen to the players.
(But @alanarientiziech I disagree about the current customer base being faithful, yes it may seem like they are but they are really forced to be faithful or else play a dead/abandoned game)

Re: SKY pack DLC
In my opinion, FS25 Season Pass 2 is one of the weakest releases in the Farming Simulator series. The JCB WFT feels pretty useless with its poor handling and physics, and the Vredo Pack doesn’t really include equipment I find practical or worth using. The Sky Pack has a few useful items, but the different physics make it less enjoyable for me since it affects the overall gameplay experience.
