Why Can't I do Anything With the Field I just Bought

I am using FS14 on my android, in beginner mode. I have the two fields that I have been farming and I purchased the field right next to mine for 150000. I try to cultivate it for planting wheat but it doesn't work. I can't seem to do anything with it.
Any idea?

I play on PS3 and when you buy a new field it is already cultivated and ready for planting. Maybe that's why.

On my iPhone, the small field next to the two you are provided, is grass. That field will produce hay when cut, teddered, and baled.
