Hello,

Today, I dual booted to my Windows 7 hard drive and then came up this:

The first drive at the top is C: and it doesn't have the Windows logo like this:

So I have NO idea why it does this, it really really bothers me to death! It has done this to me about 3 or 4 times in the past. It did it Windows 8.1 and now 2 times in Windows 7.

I need help, I don't why it does this.

Thank you

Maybe this....

But I'm not sure it is really worth the effort or the worry over something cosmetic. But that is up to you to decide.

Great! I will have to try it. :)

Edit: Seems to be that some people are saying to reinstall. Me: "stuff, I JUST installed Windows 7!" I will try as much as can NOT to reinstall Windows 7, I don't mind reinstalling, just time consuming and just don't like restarting all of the time, I reinstalled Windows 7 at least 3 times yesterday, 2 on this hard drive and another time on another hard drive for another computer. IF all else fails, I guess it is reinstallation time :) Thank you for that site.

Well, fine you got it sorted. :)

On the other hand, I've never noticed there was an icon next to the drive Icon.
Personally I won't bother such a little cosmetic thing and even call it a problem.

Re: Windows 7 help: Using Too Much RAM?

Hello got another question about Windows 7,

For some odd reason my Windows 7 machine is using around 37% ram at idle and then when I use GeForce Experience, Chrome, Windows Update it uses aroudn 50%. I only have 8 gb of ram, and last night when I had Update, AVG Free, and Malwarebytes trying to scan for malware and any other threats it went up to 91%-98%!!!!! So I have NO idea why it is doing this and it lagged so much I barely use the darn thing.

Thank you

Don't know why your pc is sloppy during av-scanning, but there is nothing wrong in windows (regardless which version) using the ram even in idle.
There are lot of background tasks (services) running which casually need some RAM. When no other application needs the memory those data for services doesn't get discharged and stays in RAM. But Windows prepares while in idle by copying disposable data to the pagefile in case the RAM is needed. That moment it just can declare the memory as free without need to brake for copy in that specific moment.
Your application gets enough free RAM as it needs.

Ah, OK, thanks! I think I had Windows Update, the AVG, Malwarebytes, and Chrome maybe open at the same time. But now in Windows 10 it doesn't do that :hmm: But thanks again folks! :D
