I had this same problem with having a huge Multi-Fruit silo too close to my Greenhouses or Fermenting Silo. When I placed the Greenhouses after filling my Silo, the Greenhouses were FULL all of a sudden, and started production ! Just keep them as far away from each other as you can, if possible.

There is a MOD called Gamesaver that will save automatically while you play. It gives you an In-Game message just before it saves. You can still turn it off in the menu. I personally turn save game off in the menu when I am building and changing things, and then incrementally SAVE as I complete some...
