Farming Simulator 21?

Post by CB Gaming »

So it has been 3 years since we got the first teaser to FS19. Hopefully we could see the first trailer to FS21 very soon, so what do you all think should be implemented in the next game?

I'd rather them go the Rockstar route and take a decade to make the game be phenomenal instead of pumping out new slightly updated versions every 2-3 years

With GIANTS self publishing their next game we might see a different approach.

I always thought the preview of the full CGI trailer (released in January for FS17 and 19) built hype far too early, All it does is take something away from the current game, which should have many more months of use.

It's not like it was a preview of much either. For FS19 it gave some tiny hints, but all Lars would confirm was the dog, which turned out to be an abomination.

Hopefully for FS2x we jump straight into a proper in-game trailer for E3 or FarmCon.

To be honest, we don't even know if there will be a new game this year. We assume so because they broke the usual two year cycle, but there's nothing to say they won't continue developing through 2021 and 2022 to release FS23.

Indeed, GIANTS aren't going to significantly change their model while the game continues to grow exponentially.

A larger than 2 year gap between games was essential based on FS19's release, but other than that I doubt much will change and I still expect FS22 to release in Q4 this year.

I know I'm flogging a dead horse, but better AI workers and a solid AI vehicle extension would really make my day. Even if they did it as a DLC for FS 19... I'd happily part with some money to see my workers not have the IQ of a chook while in working in the field.

Coincidentally I'm just watching one of the FarmCon 20 videos, and on one of the slides a file path reads: D:/code/lsim2022/bin/vehicles/fendt/favourit500/so[..]

The key bit there being of course "lsim2022" or Landwirtschafts-Simulator 2022, so presumably as of July 2020 anyway they were aiming for a 2021 release of FS22.

Nothing unexpected though and it's just an internal working name, it could change at any point and it's already seven months out of date.

I just hope they ignore many of the (realism) feature requests and let modders do them, otherwise they’ll be gutted out to allow the average uniformed on Ag player to be play without having to take a crash course on agriculture (which of course they won’t, they’ll just request a refund)

Which is the one thing that many people that whine about with some of the simplified or ignored as aspects or agriculture or compare against Cattle & Cr0ps forget, FS easily allows the informed layperson to play and maybe even pick up a better understanding of how Ag works, FS19 way over 30,000,000 copies and most aren’t hyper realistic players, rather average joes taking a look at a farm game for causal play.

Good mods are certainly coming along, like the Hogwarts acceptance letters in Harry Potter. (If anyone don’t understand the reference go read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone)

That was one of the issues, particularly when FS17 was first announced. Many modders just stopped making new mods for FS15 and instead waited or started preparing for FS17 instead.

It was less of an issue when FS19 was first announced though.

First, I'd like to tease with in-game trailers instead of the hyped CGI trailer that shows you what you won't be getting.
I hope they introduce customizable buildings for placeables, improve the landscaping, allow us to move/remove objects that are build into the map.
I hope they complete many of the functions that already half exist.

i would like to see 2 things in the next farm sim:
1, A story mode which is completely mod able
2, Gasoline I think it would be interesting to have 2 fuel types
3, actual damage if you hit something and the ability for tractors to break down and for you to repair them
I do FS19 old school mods and FS19 military mods for PC let me know if you want anything done
I don't have any form of social media nor discord FYI
