American Style Plow

Post by Dougherty10 »

When are they gonna come out with an American style plow? I figured FS22 would have one but guess. Still an awesome game

I guess that depends on what you consider an American style plow. Certainly moldboard plows aren't un-American

Yes, what Matty said. Listers, chisels, square mouldboards, disk mouldboards, and conventional mouldboards are all used somewhere or other in America. In fact when I was a kid I think I remember seeing all of them in the same John Deere catalogue :biggrin2: What are you envisioning as an american plough?

I would guess the op wants a chisel style plow. I was hoping fs22 would have one as well, but there will be modded ones coming along.

Moldboards have definitely fallen out of favour in most places I've been in North America due to their tendency to cause hardpan in certain soil types, I wouldn't go so far to say they've become obsolete because they still do get better soil inversion than a chisel plow.

Chisel plows are common enough in Europe however most are mounted models carried on the 3 point hitch, I think what the original post may have been referring to was drawbar towed chisel plows with their own running gear like the White 445 or Bourgault 9500, which are more common in North America or in use with articulated 4WD tractors which may not be equipped with a 3 point hitch, because Category 4 is currently the highest rating for a 3 point hitch which is actually only rated to 400hp, where a category 5 drawbar hitch from the supplier I regularly deal with is rated at 135,000lbs(solid ring)-139,000lbs(ball socket) maximum draft load and most 4WDs on the market now are pushing into the 700hp range from the factory and 800hp tunes aren't that uncommon anymore.

There’s a disc ripper mod in the plow category on all platforms, otherwise if you’re on pc I can help you find one

There was one on the testinglist a couple of months ago, but I don't know what happened to it.

I think it can be mounted both ways because you can switch it around and use it on the front 3 point as a plow. I think it can be attached from both sides of the plow. I remember trying before.

Just tested it. Doesnt matter what side you attach from. You can use it either forward or backwards on the front or rear 3 point it still plows!! Try it yourself!!
