Yes it is! You really don't know enough about the game by the looks of it. DLCs are just mods in a different package. All the DLC content is still moddable..

No it isn't. An extensible standard format for content doesn't make eveyrthing a mod.

Me either. I saw a couple of people post recently about the idea of Microsoft or EA buying out Giants and taking over the franchise and how great that would be because the game would finally have a "decent" development team. Boy are they barking up the wrong tree.

Ah, the joy of buying a lootbox to unlock 5 sheep. Or a chainsaw. Or a subsoiler.

I can't think of anything worse happening to the franchise than the likes of EA joining the fray.

I maintain at some point that if FS continues to grow then a bigger studio (though I can't see a AAA one doing it) will pump a sizeable funds into making a competitor and probably tempt some brands away. Might it be better? Possibly. Would it serve us as well in terms of openness? Almost certainly not. You could be pretty sure modding as we know it would be dead.

The game is for play, no for download mods and mods and mods and more mods... there is plenty of machinery to spend hours and hours of play.... simply play...
