how do I set mods over to another disk (c disk too small)

My c drive can not handle the large of the mods (a small disk) and I want to transfer it to my d drive. at FS17 I changed that via gamesetting to <modsDirectoryOverride active = "True" directory = "D: \ mods" /> but this does not work with FS19.
FS19 keeps thinking and does not start up when it starts up. Who can help me
