Grass border round fields - Has it changed ?

I have seen on some maps that the grass border round the edge of the field has changed.
If you cut the grass -( be it a grass field or you just cut the grass border ) , when you go to plough or cultivate or even seed then
the field border has gone.
To get the field border back the way it used to be you have to paint it back in (and this can cost an arm and a leg to do (Ha Ha))

This depends on a couple of things;
I'm guessing this is not a default map but a mod map.

Some modders allow different grass and foliage types to be possible to mow. What happens at the same time is you are basically creating a field. As far as I know this is not the default behavior thus you experience this as unexpected.
